Stuck after your first model? Here's why
· By the Outrify team
Signing your first model is something to be proud of. But for the vast majority of people we meet in OFM, it's also the last: the second one never comes. That ceiling has specific causes, and you break through it with a method, not with more effort.
The typical scenario
The first model often comes in a way that's hard to repeat: someone you know, a lucky break, or one big week of manual prospecting. Once she's signed, all your time goes into management: content, scheduling, conversations, organization. Prospecting stops without you ever really deciding it.
A few months later, you still have one model. Your income depends entirely on her, and you don't really know how you'd find another one. You're managing a model, but you don't have an agency yet.
The 5 causes of the block
1. Management eats up prospecting
Managing a model takes time every day. So does prospecting. On your own, you can't do both fully, and management always wins because it's urgent.
2. No repeatable process
If you don't know exactly how you signed the first one, you can't do it again. You start from zero every time.
3. No numbers
How many messages for one reply? How many replies for one call? Without those numbers, there's no way to know whether your problem is volume, targeting or the message itself.
4. The fear of burning your account
After a warning or a restriction, many slow down so much that they're no longer really prospecting. The risk is real, but it's managed with a controlled pace, not by stopping.
5. Depending on a single model
With one model, your agency only exists as long as she stays. If she leaves, everything stops overnight. That's the best reason to keep prospecting, especially when everything is going well.
The method to sign the second one, and the next ones
- Reconstruct how you signed the first one. Which profile, which message, which exchange, which argument made the difference. That's your starting point.
- Write down your target. The kind of profiles you want, and above all the ones you exclude. A vague target leads to useless conversations.
- Set a non-negotiable daily pace. A number of messages per day that's reasonable for your accounts, and that goes out even on days when you're busy.
- Track your numbers. Messages sent, replies, useful conversations, signings. Change one thing at a time and watch the effect.
- Delegate the repetition. Finding profiles, sorting them, sending the first messages: all of that can run without you. Your time should go to conversations with the models who reply.
Going from "one model" to "an agency"
Outrify takes care of the part that disappears as soon as you're busy. It finds profiles that match your target, screens out those outside your criteria, sends personalized messages at a limited, scheduled pace, and shows you the reply rate of every message. Your prospecting keeps going while you support your models, and every week brings new conversations instead of an empty calendar.
